Today we have as our guest, Dr. Lexis Johnson. With a lifetime in business and a background in the entertainment industry, plus being an international best-selling author as well, and having ghostwritten over 50, five zero, best selling books, and creating complimentary online programs for others, Lexi Johnson is definitely an expert in helping you get visibility, credibility and authority online so you can create the transformation for others while you create your own profitable lifestyle business. Thank you so much for having me. It's an honor to be here. Especially when your last guest was Iman Aghay. He's a Vancouver boy as well. I'm in Vancouver. Right?

And let's talk about your stuff. Let's get right to it with some questions. Tell me a little bit more about what you do and why you do it.

Oh, my goodness, I do so many different things, Rennie. I started off with astrology when I was a kid. And I've got over four dozen different types of energy work that I'm a master of so I can send you all energy. I can tell you in just a few minutes your archetype, your soul archetype blueprint and your social media, what you should be helping others with, the pain in their chart that will show up in your chart. I do that. I can help you get visibility, authority and credibility online for your online business. So you can get know, like, and trust and be able to transform other people's lives and the world at large with what you are passionate about doing in your life. And I take it from zero to profit in a very short time, like a matter of weeks with your business. And I started off online 20 years ago with Muffin Top Diet, helping women transform their bodies, not as a weight-loss coach, but that's certainly a side effect, but more an anti-aging specialist and longevity, help you be energized. Because I won't tell you how old I am. But I've got seven grown up kids and a grandson who is 14 and a couple younger ones. So I've been around a long time and I definitely can help you with the energizing your life. So that's a couple of things I do.

That's perfect. And now, the reason I spend so much time teaching others how to handle money powerfully is because the pain in my life in handling money well was just beyond me. So tell me why you're doing this kind of work.

Oh my goodness. I'm a heart-centered individual. And literally, and realistically, 20 years ago, I had just finished taking my holistic wellness program. So I'm a double Board Certified Nutritional Consultant, and holistic health practitioner, and they do not teach my brother and sister health practitioners how to build their business. And still today, they're still not teaching it. They teach...

They don't teach it to dentists or doctors. They don't even teach it to accountants.

No. Oh, is that right? Accountants, oh my goodness. Well, there you go. But at least accountants are accustomed to having a bricks and mortar business. My brothers and sisters in this industry are trying to build their businesses online, especially after what's happened the past several years with the pandemic. And so I decided if nobody else was going to teach it, I will. And I just help people do what I learned how to do, having grown up in a family business and helping my first husband build his business and then selling it for quite a large sum. So I understand business. I certainly don't know everything, but most of my clients come to me and say, I want to be like you. I want to be a best seller, or I want your success, or I want to look like you in your little black suit. So I help them do those kinds of things.

Perfect. And now, as you've know, I donate 100% of the profits from the work I do to various animal and veteran organizations. Tell me about the cause that's closest to your heart. 

Lexis Johnson  05:25
Well, I could have many of them. I have had a crazy life with, I raised seven kids by myself. And I certainly had a lot of experiences that a lot of the women in your audience may have experienced. But one of the ones that's nearest to my heart, I created my own online university back in 2003. And I'm just now getting it where I need it to be where I give scholarships to women who are like myself, who want to learn how to build their business online, so that they can stay home with their children. Or maybe they've got older children, and they're restructuring their life to do something online. Because of the pandemic, they don't want to get shut down again. So I help them with their businesses in that regard. So I do have bespoke programs, I do charge a lot for what I give. But I can also help people go from zero to making some money online so they can have the money to hire whatever coach they want. And the online school that I have has other coaches in it, who have students. So when you put your program on my platform, after I teach you how to create a program, there's other students there who can see your program and you can collaborate with the other coaches for joint venture partners as well as collect some students without having to put through to the expense and struggle of marketing yourself. Because marketing and selling seems to be the biggest issue with this group of heart-centered coaches. So that's what I do to give back, so try to help them avoid the pitfalls. I've been through.

Okay, so it sounded like your ideal clients are women, like what age 45 to 70, or something?

Lexis Johnson  07:23
My age group, the women who are in my age group who just, they're going through what I've just been through, or they're going through what I'm going through now in society, so I resonate with them. I can help others, of course, and I do help quite a few gentlemen as well. But that's my core group.

Which makes a lot of sense. Now to a sensitive question. What would you say your biggest failure was, whether personal or business, and what insight did you gain from it? 

Lexis Johnson  07:54
A lot of people have the same struggle that I have. And that's an excellent question, because there's so many different things that that could encompass. So many people want to be heart-centered. Well, they are heart-centered individuals - they want to give. And they believe that they have a special God-given talent, especially energy workers. And they think because it's a God-given talent, they should give it away for free. But I don't notice Beyonce or the Michael Jackson's, the Shaquille O'Neal's, you know, the Tom Brady's of the world, I don't see them giving it away. They all have two important thing - and that's a coach and a manager. And they charge what they're worth, hundreds of thousands of dollars. So that's a big leap between giving it away free and charging that much. I help people go from one step to the other. And I get to learn those things as well. Right.

What I heard was, you know what you're doing, but not what the failure was that may have created?

Lexis Johnson  08:49
Yeah, the failure was, yeah, the failure was in not putting the oxygen mask on myself and getting to a stage of burnout. And if I had, you know, charged what I was worth, instead of giving it away, I would have had a marketing budget, it wasn't that I didn't know how to do it, it's that I didn't have the money to do it. I'd always get to a point where I was just about, you know, just about where I needed to be but I didn't have the money to hire the coach. Because group programs can only teach you so much. You need that one-on-one coach at some point, and one-on-one is the most expensive, because we're giving our time. And we only have so many hours in the day. And if we want to have that lifestyle business, we need to give ourselves, the R&R, the time that the family, the children, the trips, the you know, whatever it is that fills us up, putting the oxygen mask on ourselves. We need to charge and like everybody else, I wasn't charging enough. And as soon as I did, and as soon as I hired my first coach for $100,000, I went oh my god, what am I doing? I just, I just agreed to give somebody $100,000, like it's, like I felt a noose around my neck. The minute that I did that from the very first coaching session that I had, it was like a weight lifted off my shoulders. And I became successful, just like that. That's what made the difference for me.

And that makes so much sense from the standpoint of, you know, you put, what I want to say, you put enough skin in the game, that you took what what was being told to you or how you're being coached, you took it seriously enough, and apparently took the actions on it to produce the six-figure results.

Now one of the things that I want to bring up that this reminds me of, because you're talking about the one-on-one work with a coach, you've written a lot of books. I've written, I've got a couple of best sellers, I've written three books so far. One of the things that I've realized is, even though my book is great, whether I say so myself, or whether it's the people have given me testimonials . . .

Yeah, you've got social proof.

Yeah. But you know what?

You have the social proof, they all loved you. Right?

Rennie Gabriel  10:57
Exactly. But you know what? There is no book, not even mine, that can do two things that are most important in allowing someone to grow and transform. One of them is the book cannot interrupt faulty thinking. If your thinking is off track, the book isn't going to get you back on track. That's number one that the book can't do. And the second thing it can't do, is it cannot hold you accountable to what you said you wanted to do.

And so I understand exactly where you're coming from. And I'm also saying this for all of our listeners as well. I know that you've got a program coming out, but tell me, what's the benefit or goal or objective or outcome that people achieve who follow your advice? And do you have an example like a case study? 

Lexis Johnson  11:48
Hmm, very good questions. I have lots and lots of them. I wish I'd thought to, I wish you'd asked me that question earlier, I would have brought one completely up to mind. I have a great many people, if you go on LinkedIn, you'll see all kinds of testimonials on LinkedIn when you scroll down to the bottom and see the recommendations. You can't make those up. People have to come in on their own. So those ones are very dear to my heart because everybody knows, you can't fake those, right. And some of those are saying like, Lexis, you've taught me more in one hour than I learned in whole, whole groups of, you know, whole sessions with other people, whole programs with other people. So those are the types of testimonials that I have. And I've got thousands of them, like for my Muffin Top Diet, or my write-a-book program or my astrology. My mom was the same way. We just have that, that's our blueprint, that's what we came to the world to do for people is to turn their lives around and give them the right answers that they need, just when they need it the most. So, of that's kind of what I do. So my people, gosh, so many of them say the exact same thing that their lives were turned around because of me. And I got the nickname "Charmed Lady" by my grandfather a very long time ago. And when people work with me, when I date them, when I marry them, they start making lots of money. And I don't know if it's just I have that personality that inspires them or that I uplift them, but I do tend to hold people accountable. Because I often say the medicine doesn't work on the shelf, you have to implement, right. You have to make . . . can't just listen to the advice. You have to actually get out there and take some action.

Yeah, there's a wonderful expression almost the same as, you know, the medicine doesn't work if you leave it on the shelf. It's from a 12-step program, and I heard it, it's like, it only works if you work it. 

Lexis Johnson  13:40
Yeah. Oh, I like that, too. I like that one too.

Well, let's do this, you know, people will probably want to get a hold of you, as a result of the podcast. Is there a valuable free resource that you can direct people to that will further support their growth?

/challenge. If you go there, there's a readiness assessment and it's good for any business. But particularly good if you want to write a book or if you don't know what your next steps are, even if you just have a great idea, and you want to move it into being a business. Or if you've hit that glass ceiling, and you just can't get through to help you get to your next steps. Do the assessment, even though it looks like it's pages and pages of, Oh my god, what have I gotten myself into? Just take one question at a time and answer them. They are the best to determine your readiness, which means what are you, what's your next step? What are you actually ready to do next? And it'll get you thinking about that next step. And then you can take that to any coach and say, Well, here I figured these things out. But after that, you're also welcome to come to me. There's a link at the end of it that says you can book a session with Lexis. The session is worth$997 for my time, and I won't charge you for that. I will tell you based on your assessment, what your next steps could be.

Fabulous. I will have that link in the show notes. And is there a question that I should have asked you, that would also give some great value to my listeners? And obviously, what would the answer be to the question?

No, I think I kind of already went there. I love this book, Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. And he says, You need to have a definiteness of purpose, and then act, like you can't just listen to the advice. You need to take action on it. So having that mental clarity, going into my readiness assessment is all about that, finding a way to determine what your,  what is your goal? What do you want to do? Who do you work with? Who do you want to work with? What do you help them do? What's the biggest pain that they have that you can solve, that for you it's easy, but for them, it's like, Oh, how am I going to manage this? Because they don't have the clarity, but you do, because you've already accomplished that. So figure out what those steps are, and do what Napoleon Hill says. And take action on that definiteness of purpose. That was my biggest saving grace, and apparently so many others because he gets recommended a lot.
