Terri is a business and marketing mentor for coaches and consultants who want to expand their impact, influence and income, and she provides guaranteed results. Cool. Well, let's talk about why you do what you do.

It's a good place to start. So I didn't do this originally, my first degree was as a speech language pathologist, and I ran a clinic, a speech pathology clinic. Later, my husband and I had an art company, then I was Vice President of Marketing for a large rehabilitation company. And then I was president of a national health care company. And then I decided that my heart really wasn't in any of that. My heart was in helping people grow transformational businesses. So my goodness, close to 30 years ago, I said goodbye to all of that and I started working with business owners and helping them create a life of freedom, while they're actively transforming other people's lives.

Terrific. And now, since I donate 100% of the profits from the work I do to charity, I know that there is a foundation that you are very involved in. Tell us about that.

Thank you for asking. So I have a neurological disease called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, or CRPS - goes by those initials - and my husband and I started a foundation for children who have RSD or CRPS. It is the most painful disease known to mankind. It sits here, brain tumor sits here, amputation sits here. And there really is not a proven cure or treatment. And because the treatments are experimental, insurance companies don't want to help out. So that's what we do - we help kids. I also talk to kids, I talk to their parents and provide a lot of support. And so yeah, our, my heart is very much attached to that, and that is why I bring in income is to be able to pass it forward.

Terrific. So now, I'm guessing based on what you said, your target markets would be coaches, consultants, mentors, therapists, and people in the health and wellness profession. Is that right? 

Terri Levine  03:26
You totally got it. Yes. Anyone who transforms someone's life, their health, their wealth, their relationship, any of those kinds of things? Yes.

Okay. So let me ask you, what was your biggest failure or challenge, whether personal or business?

Terri Levine  03:43
My biggest failure was when I got RSD. After a period of being confined to wheelchair and bed for quite a period of time in excruciating pain, taking a ton of medication and getting ketamine infusions, which is elephant tranquilizer. Every day, I would just say, you know, please make this the end, please make this the end. And that was the biggest, at the time, as the biggest thing that I was going through that I thought there is no way out. And you know what? There was a way out, and that was finding out that kids have this. And I thought, I got this for a reason. I have a voice. I have the financial ability to do something about this. And I spun it and started treating it as a gift and that changed everything.

That sounds like the insight you got from that experience that you've turned around and created something wonderful.

Yeah, it's funny because when I speak on stages a lot I talk about this as being my best blessing. And people go, What? I'm like, Well, I got chosen for this disease. I think I really did get chosen. I have a voice. I know how to fundraise. My husband supports this foundation along with me. And I'm able to reach literally hundreds of thousands of people and get people to be aware of RSD. So it's a gift.

Oh, beautiful. Thank you. Well, what are the typical feelings your business prospects experience?

Oh, man, most of my client family members, that's what I call them - and I've worked with about 6000 in the past three decades - they're frustrated. They aren't making the incomes they want, or they're making the income they want, they're just putting in so many hours, it's turned into more of a J-O-B instead of being an entrepreneur. And so I really understand those frustrations and the feeling of overwhelm. And nowadays, Rennie, there's so much confusion. I mean, you'll get people on the internet talking conflicting things, and they don't know should I be spending time on social media, do I need a blog, should I have a podcast, should I do SEO, should I do ads? And they really don't know what the proven strategies are. So I like to uncomplicate all of that, design their lives and then design their businesses so they're not living their businesses or lives by default. Instead, they're doing it by design.

Oh, fabulous. So you know, yeah, and I can see that those are typical mistakes most entrepreneurs are making. You know, looking at the next shiny object. Let me ask you, do you have a case study of having worked with someone and maybe where they were and where they ended up after following your advice?

Yeah, I'm going to share two, one a little longer-term and one shorter just to give people an idea. Mia Redrick has been with me for two decades. She actually signed up to be a lifetime client. And when she started with me, she had a business concept, and she was told by every organization and mentor, it'll never work. And I said, I guarantee it will work. So if you work with me, I'm going to give you guaranteed results. We took her idea, the very first year, I think she did about 300,000. And she has gone on to have a massive following of women in her niche. Her followers are faithful, they're loyal, she does a lot of income every single year, I'm not going to give the numbers away, just trust me, it's a lot of income. She works twenty-one hours a month. Twenty-one hours a month. So she's able to really give back and spend time with her family. And I'll give you one real short one, Rennie. A client started with me six weeks ago at zero. She was just brand new in business. And I just saw her video testimonial today. In January she did $68,500 from zero. So that's what I love to do - and I love to celebrate their successes.

Terrific. So what's the one question I should have asked you that would also give some great value to those who are listening?

So the one that's on my mind right in this moment, because it's always different, and this has really been up for me in the last few weeks, may sound contrary to a lot of advice, and I'm going to say to begin living a more simple life. I find that one of the problems that entrepreneurs have is that they're in massive debt - well so are most human beings.

Instead of asking yourself, will that shiny object add value to my life and bring more joy to my life? Most people are just collecting more stuff. Let me get the newest car, the newest iPhone, the newest whatever. I'm going to ask you to slowdown and to really notice where you're spending money in your business, and your time, and your business and your life and asking - 'Is this going to bring me joy and add value?' Because if you can get rid of clutter - mentally, physically and emotionally and financially - that by itself can change your life.
